About ATCMW Rescue

This rescue group is a committee of the Airedale Terrier Club of Metropolitan Washington, DC, Inc.  The rescue group was formed in 1987 to provide a service to the Greater Washington Metropolitan Washington, DC area, including all of the State of Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia.  Since 1987 group has rescued and found home for more than 350 Airedales.  We are proud of our record and pledge to continue this service as long as it is needed.  We hasten to thank the members of our Airedale Terrier Club of Metropolitan Washington, DC, Inc. who assist us in many adoption and for their financial support.  Without this support, our Committee could not operate.

Our Committee is currently Chair’d by Pamela McKusick.  The committee was originally formed in 1987 under the leadership of Lou Swafford, its chair for many years.  Pam is currently the primary contact for VA, WVA, MD and DC. However, Pam is assisted by many hard working rescue people in Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia.  We also network with the Airedale Terrier Club of America’s Rescue operation, which covers the entire United States.
