I hope you’ve saved the date! The ATCMW will hold its annual B-OB Match and Picnic on Sunday, May 15, 2011. (Complete flyer attached) It will once again be at the lovely Acredale Park, which has plenty of shade and a covered pavilion for our picnic.

Schedule:

  • Obedience Entries Taken 10:00-10:30 AM
  • Obedience Judging Starts 10:45 AM
  • Conformation Entries Taken 10:45-11:15 AM
  • Conformation Judging Starts 11:30 AM

When judging is done, Joan Schessler will give a demonstration of Canine Scent Work followed by an opportunity for all of our Airedales to have a go at it! For more info on this new canine sport, click on this link! http://www.nacsw.net/ This is a first for our gathering and I’m excited about it!

Some ground rules for this activity:

  • NO PRIOR TRAINING OR EXPERIENCE NECESSARY FOR EITHER DOG OR HUMAN!!!
  • All equipment will be provided, but you should bring REALLY good treats. The A list of treats!! Real meat and such, not biscuits or kibble.
  • Dogs should be on a flat collar. Long leashes will be provided.
  • In fairness to the dog whose turn it is to work, all other dogs will be required to be in crates or out of the area until it is his/her turn! Please be prepared for that by providing exercise pens or crates for all dogs with you during this activity.

I will be available to test for the CGC award for anyone who would like to do so. It would be helpful to me if you would email that you’d like to do so. You can reach me at mailto:clickertrain@verizon.net

Bring water and bowls for your dogs, chairs for you, and don’t forget to call or email Nora Dudman to coordinate food. Everyone should plan on bringing SOMETHING so that the job of feeding our group doesn’t fall on one person! Nora can be reached at mailto:ndudman@comcast.net or 410-485-7820.

Directions to Acredale Park can be found in the attached flyer.

I have to admit that this is my favorite ATCMW activity. I get to talk with fellow Airedalers, eat great food, and enjoy watching the Airedales interact and do all of the activities.

See you there,
Corally
